หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Transfer of Drought Resistant Character from Wild Rice (Oryza meridionalis and Oryza nivara) to Cultivated Rice (Oryza sativa L.) by Backcrossing and Immature Embryo Culture ผู้เขียน:Pham THIEN THANH, ดร.ประภา ศรีพิจิตต์, รองศาสตราจารย์, ดร.สนธิชัย จันทร์เปรม, รองศาสตราจารย์, สุรินทร์ ปิยะโชคณากุล สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractDrought is an abiotic stress to be continuing threat to rice production. The characteristics supporting to drought resistance are restricted in cultivars while wild species of Oryza are an important reservoir of useful genes for rice improvement. The objective of this study was to transfer drought resistant character from wild species (O. meridionalis and O. nivara) to cultivated rice varieties RD23 and CN1 by backcrossing in combination with immature embryo culture. Hybridization between cultivated rice and wild species was made to produce six interspecific hybrid crosses. Crossability between cultivated rice and wild species of all crosses varied from 21.2 to 50% with an average of 35.3%. The F1 hybrid embryos obtained were rescued by culturing on the half-strength MS medium. Germination ability of the hybrid embryos of all crosses ranged from 36.2 to 62.1% with an average of 52.0%. The F1 hybrid plants obtained showed low pollen fertility and relatively poor agronomic characters. They were then backcrossed to their cultivated recurrent parents to restore fertility and good agronomic performance from cultivated rice. The 299 BC1F1 plants were produced from six backcrosses of which 235 plants could set BC1F2 seeds. The 452 BC1F2 progenies from six backcrosses were screened for drought resistance at vegetative growth stage by visual scoring of leaf rolling, leaf drying and plant recovery. Selection was made for 39 BC1F2 plants resistant to drought and having high seed yield per plant and good agronomic performance. They will be grown to be BC1F3 lines for further evaluation on drought resistance, yield and agronomic performance. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Comparison Between Ohmic and Conventional Heating of Pineapple and Longan in Sucrose Solution) ผู้เขียน:ฐิตาภรณ์ ตัมพานุวัตร, ดร.วีรเชษฐ์ จิตตาณิชย์, รองศาสตราจารย์, Supaporn Kaewchutong, Orapin Jan-Ob, Hoang Pham, ดร.ธนะบูลย์ สัจจาอนันตกุล, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractOhmic heating is an innovative thermal processing method in which an alternating electric current is directly released through food materials to generate heat. The temperature inside the food during ohmic heating can be raised rapidly and uniformly depending on the electrical conductivity of the food. In this research, the electrical conductivities of pineapple, longan and sucrose solution were measured. Furthermore, mixtures of fruit and sucrose solution at 12 ?Brix were heated from 30 ?C to about 90 ?C by ohmic and conventional methods. The aims were to: 1) investigate the possibility of applying ohmic heating to the mixture of fruit and sucrose solution; and 2) to compare the quality of ohmically heated samples with that of conventionally heated counterparts using the same heating rate. The results indicated that the electrical conductivities of pineapple and longan were in the ranges 0.1–1.3 and 0.3–1.0 S.m-1, respectively. Moreover, it appeared from the analysis of variance that there was no significant difference in the textural attributes between ohmically and conventionally heated samples whereas the color values were significantly different. In addition, a positive effect of ohmic heating on microbial reduction was found for the pineapple pieces with the numbers of mesophilic bacteria, molds and yeast in the ohmically treated samples being significantly lower than those of conventionally heated specimens. The energy consumption was comparable between the two techniques. The findings in this work confirmed that the ohmic method could be an interesting option for heating these products. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Reproductive Strategy and Occurence of Gametophytes of Thai
Laver Porphyra vietnamensis Tanaka et Pham-Hoang Ho
(Bangiales, Rhodophyta) from Songkhla Province) ผู้เขียน:Rapeeporn Ruangchuay, Masahiro Notoya สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractReproductive strategy and occurrence of gametophyte phase of Thai laver Porphyra
vietnamensis Tanaka et Pham-Hoang Ho were investigated to provide further information for aquaculture.
The study was weekly evaluated in two localities of rocky dike; Leam Son-on and Ban Pak Bang
Sakhom in Songkhla province during October 1999 to March 2000. Gametophytes, 1.48 (? 0.18) cm in
length and 0.42 (? 0.05) cm in width, were visually appeared in early December on the upper level of
the dike of both stations. The mature thalli were linear, broad linear or lanceolate, 4.49 (? 0.58) cm in
length and 0.75 (? 0.18) cm in width. Speramatangia and zygotosporangia were generally observed
from the same plant in early January with size of 10.78 (? 1.68) cm in length and 1.40 (? 0.11) cm in
width. Most of them were linear, broad linear or lanceolate in shape. Spermatangial division was 64
(a/4, b/4, c/4) and 32 (a/2, b/4, c/4). While, zygotosporangia division was 8(a/2, b/2, c/2). Biomass was
increased to 5.79 and 5.77 g wet weight /100 cm2 at Leam Son-on and Ban Pak Bang Sakhom respectively.
Archeosporangia were observed in small thalli, 1-3.8 cm in length and 1.1-1.5 cm in width, in late
March. The occurrence of gametophytic phase of P. vietnamensis from the two sampling stations was
similar. The new populations could be observed at both stations during the sampling time. |
